Aside from the Boost in self-esteem that curation offers a new writer, I would like to encourage you that I can’t tell a whole lot the curation is helping my articles get more eyeballs. The best way to get more eyes on your articles is to increase your follower ship and like Matthew said to share on social media. Well that seems a little sneaky like they’re just trying to drive business to medium it actually is the most effective way to get more readership. What you are doing is building relationships and putting out good articles. And these are the two most effective strategies to building your followership on medium thereby increasing your medium partnership payments. Curation has served to me to be a big pat on the back and a kick in the butt and an attagirl girl, but I’m not sure it has done a whole lot to help me financially. What has helped me financially is hard-ass work! I’ve been putting out nearly three articles a day and working very hard to talk to people and build my followership, and in the end that is the pat on the back we’re having. I do agree with Shannon that curation may not stick around or it may change. If you keep putting out good work and build a good followership you will be more noticed by the curators. I noticed one day I got three curations. I find it very interesting that on that same day I was also posted to the Startup, The Writing Cooperative, and the Ascent, as well as two other smaller Publications. All of my article seem to have gotten approved right about the same time on that day and an hour following that I was curated three times. I think it’s about getting noticed. You get yourself noticed and they’ll pay more attention I believe. I’m extremely proud of my curations and it is merely a psychological thing. I truly think it hasn’t done much of anything to help my building of my business here on medium. I think what you were doing is the best strategy and yes sharing is a huge part of building your medium readership. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to be supportive. I completely 100000% understand your frustration. And I feel like I would be in the same position as you right now if I hadn’t received the reply I did to my email. Keep going, keep trying, I am rooting for you!
