Dear Medium, Please bring back the Top Writer badges on our profiles. In one quick glance I knew: this is a writer I want to follow, this is a writer who is killing it on Medium, this is a writer who covers topics that interest me.

I liked those little tags at the top of my profile — showing the world what I have accomplished here on Medium. Ok, showing the few hundred…the ones that show up every day and support my work because they enjoy my words.

Those people are everything. But I really miss my Top Writer badges. They are the pick-me-up when stats or MPP bring it like a kick to the knees. Writers need encouragement…
