Just out of curiosity, the use of “u” and “ur” etc implies youth and ignorance, but the title is runaway bride, implying someone older…I cannot understand the use of colloquial abbreviations. Is this poem based on a film that would require the POV to speak this way? The structure is also very informal so perhaps that was intended. I find it difficult the juxtaposition of that lack of grammatical education with the complex thought included such as:

Didn’t know how. Someone put my skin on wrong and I’d been trying for years to adjust to this thing I am. So many layers of pretend packed on.

Which I thought to be a powerful visual. Enjoyed it…thank you for sharing.
