I no longer have to know all the answers; I don’t have to struggle to cram creation into a 6,000-year box. I’m not afraid of losing my whole worldview over a difficult question. I get to learn, rather than endlessly debate. Every day is a brave new world.
My dad answered these burning questions for me when I was a child by asking “But how long is one of GOD’s days?” And with that, I am happy. My degree is in environmental science. My faith remains. I believe in BOTH a divine creator and in natural selection, evolution etc. I chose to believe in science and a creator as well. I know that sounds too wide-spread and all-encompasing, but we can’t know all the answers. I am a science major seeing the world through the eyes of a nature-loving, liberal Christian — LOL Enjoyed your article. Brave topic.
