Thank you so much Tapan Avasthi for sharing your thoughts with me on this poem. I read from The Diary of Anne Frank in school and my daughter has read it.

This subject was difficult for me to tackle with poetry. But after reading about the children and this horrific “doctor” in Auschwitz, I have not been able to get them out of my mind. I wanted to pay my respects with my writing — I guess this is the best way to explain it.

I thank you for reading this and yes, yes — I wish this was not a part of history to even write about!

We MUST know to do better. We MUST know to never go back (and when we begin separating children from their parents at the border, putting them in cages — what a slippery and dangerous slope.)
