There are several different kinds and I only know ONE of them lol — I am still learning! For example, I am learning that the rhyme scheme is often adjusted in some of them (I had no idea!) and that some modern sonnet writers do not adhere to the iambic pentameter (again, I had no idea LOL) I thought you were using a sonnet form I didn’t recognize, but that’s because I was looking for the “rules”. Apparently sonnet rules are not strict ones and the poet has some leeway with the form. This is good to know.

I am not a form writer so learning these forms is tough — but so worth it.

Beautiful poem! Did you ever check out Sonnetry? I have just recently started writing sonnets and mine have done fairly well there.
